Site OptimizationWhat is site optimization for? After developing the site, it is required to perform some work in order the important visitors can find your site easily. Site optimization is the most important stage for promoting your site. Without optimizing your site, it is difficult to promote it only by external methods. How to optimize the site?Site optimization must be programmed before developing the site. In the content management system it is required that one can enter a page title separately, key words and page description on every page. It is important that there is a possibility to paste text titles automatically between the tags
-
, the information between which is top-priority for searching engines. Site optimization is performed in several stages.Firstly, it is necessary to list the search requests which we will look up to while optimizing the site. To take top positions in several searching engines is not an easy matter. Different searching engines have different operation algorithms. But if we create a unique request, then you will definitely get into top 10. To create a unique request it is needed to narrow maximally the target audience. After all the needed surveys are conducted and a few key phrases are selected, which we will lookn up to, you can start optimizing the pages of the very site. The most efficient way of optimization is optimization of every page for one search request. It is much easier to achieve better results. While optimizing the site it is necessary to fit the algorithms of searching engines. The position of the page at outranking is influenced by its several components:
It is desirable to to enter the search request into the page title – one or a few key phrases. The title has size limitation – preferably no more than 256 letters. In keywords section all the words found in the page title and text titles on the page are enumerated in a comma. Here might be added the words which are frequently used on the page though they do not refer directly to the search request. The words are ordered from the most to the least important for a particular page. The content of the description is more important for a prospective visitor than for searching engines though some searching engines analyze this text as well. When a person while viewing the results of the search chooses the site to visit, the searching engine offers him/ her only the title and description, so it is important to provide a description which can persuade the person that your site is the one he/she really needs. The title on the page is better not to be bolded but put into
-
, as such titles are more preferable for searching engines than a text between tags. It is desirable to put as many key words as possible into the title, but avoid overloading it with such. The visitor may feel the redundancy of the information if you put too many words into the title and make a negative conclusion about the information, which was intended not for him/ her but for searching engines. Algorithms of operations of searching engines can also figure out inappropriate information and can put the site on the spam-list. The number of key words for one page can be different, as different searching engines have different algorithms of analyzing pages. There exist many opinions of ideal number of key words on one page. In any case, it is desirable to put several key words in the first 2-3 sentences of the text and then arrange them evenly in the text. It is not a good idea to put several key words at a time, for example at the page bottom. If the key-word stands for a link, it may icrease the relevance of the page which hosts the link to several requests. Site optimization is a time-consuming, routine and long process. With the competent approach to the given task all temporal physical and monetary costs will be compensated within a short period of time. Дата публикации: 26.02.2010 |
